Window Cleaning Tips and Tools From a Window Cleaner – Number 14

I have found that window cleaning always includes a wide number of different types of cleaning like after doing the windows, you always need to wipe the window frames down.

If you are cleaning a large square footage home or business or even smaller types of homes and businesses, it is very common to have to also clean light fixtures that might also have glass around them. A good tip and tool to use for this type of cleaning is the micro fiber cloth. This cloth, because of the fiber will allow you to clean the surface without leaving streaks.

Another good tip and tool is the water fed pole and the de-Ionized water system which cleans your windows spot free. There are so many different types of de-Ionized water systems. There are even water cart systems that come with even more than just a de-Ionized tank, but also a reverse Osmosis system along with the De-Ionized tank all in one unit. These systems are referred to as a water carts.

The water fed pole helps save a lot of time, but if you are doing a detailed job and the windows have not been cleaned on a regular basis, the windows might need to be done several times to be brought back to life or cleaned with a strip washer and squeegee. Learning how to clean thoroughly is a tip all in itself.

A lot of learning how to clean thoroughly is that you must go over and check your work and learn how to look for mistakes. A lot of the time you need to go over the cleaning the second time to get it to look the way you want.

Window Cleaning Tips and Tools From a Window Cleaner Number 11, Part 1

When doing a big residential window cleaning job, there is a certain order of operations that I follow. When I say a big job, I mean just that, a 5,000 to 20,000 square foot home. We sometimes call these homes multimillion dollar homes.

The point is they are big and everything in the home is usually worth a lot of money. Take it from me- You don’t want to have to replace items because of someone breaking something. Usually the bigger jobs do need to be well supervised. You need to be ready to be able to take your time and allow your crew plenty of time. Otherwise, something could get damaged of broken.

Using de-ionized water fed poles will help eliminate some time and work for the outside of the home. The only down side to water fed poles is they cannot be used in the inside of the home. Screens can sometimes be taken off from the inside of the home, but in some cases they come off from the outside and this means they will have to be accessed by ladders.

If the home has tinting on the windows, the tinting must be inspected for bubbles. You have to inspect for bubbles in the tinting because these areas are damaged and the tinting can be pulled away from the window during the process of cleaning, causing further damage to the tinting. These types of windows have to be cleaned by hand with a micro fiber cloth.
